Now Open on Cuernavaca in West Austin: The 263 (Provisions, and Coming Soon, Grill!)

The 263, Provisions and Grill AustinResidents of the Cuernavaca neighborhood in West Austin are all fired up about The 263, a brand new venue at 1705 Cuernavaca Drive, just up the hill from Lake Austin.

Named after the area’s token phone prefix 2-6-3, phase one (now open) is a neighborhood grocery specializing in organic and natural products, coffee and on-the-go meals. It offers fresh vegetables, ice cream by the scoop, specialty espresso and local Kombucha on tap! Phase two (set to open very soon) is a family-friendly indoor-outdoor American grill serving up wood oven pizzas, Panini, rotisserie meats, salads, burgers and more!

 

The 263, Provisions and GrillOwner Dennis Liddy moved to Cuernavaca with his wife 5 years ago from East Austin. After working in kitchens of 612 West, the Bitter End, and the Granite Café, Liddy tried his hand at running a general store in New Mexico. A desire for better schools for his children eventually brought him and wife Bridget back to Austin. The 263 Provisions and Restaurant is the realization of a lifelong dream, and the best of both business worlds!

 

The 263, Provisions and GrillLiddy’s high regard for writers defines the unique branding and logo design of 263, which are shaped like keytops off a vintage typewriter.  Captivating images and quotes painted on the interior and exterior walls give deference to writers like Jack Kerouac and Charles Bukowski.

 

The 263, Provisions and GrillThe store, even without the restaurant up and running, is quickly becoming a staple to local residents. “I timed it. It’s a half-hour minimum to hit H-E-B from here,” says Liddy. “The restaurant will eventually do the heavy lifting when it comes to profits, but I think the provisions side of 263 will become a lifesaver for families in need of healthy, last-minute items!”
